'A 25 night house/pet sit caring for sweet Mabel - a Beagle/Daschund Cross in Dundee'

Sweet 3 year old Mabel was rescued from Romania by her owners.   We spent 25 days caring for Mabel in her beautiful home on the Tay Riverside part of Dundee with the pretty Broughty Ferry beach just a 10 minutes drive away  –  its a long sandy beach stretching all the way to Monifieth beach and one of Mabel’s favourite places to explore and sand dig. Mabel loves a ride out in the car, we took her almost everywhere as we explored the Fife coast, she was the perfect companion.  She loves to be upfront in the car on the trip out, nosing at all the views, and fast asleep on the back seat on the trip home.    Her owners left us lots of info on great walks and beaches.  Who knew that Scotland had so many beautiful beaches!

Mabel is such an affectionate wee pooch and we all soon became very attached.  She has such a great little personality, she loves fun outdoor games but at home she loves a cuddle even when we are working, how she was comfortable sleeping on our laps as we sat up the desk was adorable.

Mabel has so many funny and endearing ways – she loves her morning lay in and stays snuggled up in her bed, blanket covered until almost mid-day.   Baxter Park was just a 5 minute walk from the house and Mabel loved to meet and play with all the dogs she met even on her long leash.  The beach is her real love, her favourite game is sand digging.    At home she loves to play Flirt in the garden, she’s very fast.

Exploring the Fife coast with Mabel was a delight.  We drove many times over the Tay Bridge to visit pretty Elie beach and the famous  St.Andrews and the long sandy beach and beautiful forest Tentsmiuir.    She would happily walk for miles, by the sea and around the town.

We sent photos and videos to Mabel’s owners showing how relaxed and happy she was in our care and where we had taken her and the fun she had with us.

We will always remember all her little ways and personality and she will always have a place in our hearts.

Review received | Sep 16, 2018 – I cannot speak highly enough of Julie and Jonathan. They took care of my two elderly and eccentric dogs, one of whom was wearing a head cone and both of whom needed medications and gentle handling. I received regular bulletins and photos in which it was clear that the dogs were having a good time and on my return I could see that they were happy and well looked after. In addition, the house was sparkling – in a much better state than I had left it – the lawns were mowed and the linen was already drying on the line. They had even prepared lunch for me. It was a pleasure dealing with them at all times and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants to know that their house and pets are in safe and caring hands.
